We Can Travel By Swamp

This one was especially fun for me. I typically just sit down and crank something out if I get inspired, but for this one I actually came up with the concept first. For whatever reason I had the swamp on my mind and wanted to make something that could evoke the mood of a bubbling, slimy wasteland like the depths of the bayou. And nothing is more awesome in a swamp than a swamp boat, so constructing the most badass of all swamp cruisers became the theme. After crafting the initial loop, I sent it off to Shklovsky and that became the sample. But then things got interesting. Before he started working on his own version (which became what may be my favorite of his EP), he sent me some guitar riffs he recorded while listening to it. I promptly took those layers, chopped them to bits, then reassembled the wreckage into the second half of the song. The result may be the most collaborative track of the project.
